Foundation

ADAA Foundation
The ADAA Foundation, a distinct but connected entity to the ADAA, was established in 1970. Primarily funded by donations from ADAA member galleries, the Foundation has distributed grants to museums, archives, and arts organizations around the country to advance art historical research and exhibition development. The Foundation was also used to establish the ADAA Relief Fund to ensure that galleries and nonprofit art institutions affected by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 would be able to recover and remain in business.

The ADAA Foundation’s current grant program supports U.S. museums and arts institutions from across the country with operating budgets of or under six million dollars. Each year, the Foundation invites randomly selected institutions to submit proposals for funding to advance the research and development of new art exhibitions, educational programming, and/or community engagement initiatives, including those that advance equity, access, and representation specific to our field, presented online or in-person.
