Objects of Passion: Reflections on the History of Collections and Collectors

In concert with the upcoming 21st annual Art Show, ADAA will host a series of lectures by renowned historian, novelist, and journalist Philipp Blom, Objects of Passion: Reflections on the History of Collections and Collectors, February 20th–21st. Encapsulating a cultural history of collecting, the series will consist of three lectures that will trace firstly, what we collect when we collect; secondly, the driving passions of collectors; and finally, the dramatization and organization of collections since the Renaissance.
Friday, February 20th, at 6:30 PM, Philipp Blom will give his presentation on Relics, Sacred and Profane. Saturday, February 21st, at 11:00 AM, Philipp Blom will give a presentation titled, Between Love and Loss: The Collector's Secret, and at 4:00 PM, he will give his last presentation, titled Theaters of Memory: Order, Space, and History.
